- Due to an interest in being safe, many people go out of their way not to make a mistake or to appear as knowing simply so they won't be slandered or looked down on. However, this creates detrimental consequences, especially concerning progress and evolution.
- Many people are more interested in playing it safe to appear as correct and in-control, simply for the sake of their reputation or standing. On the other hand, some people play it ultra-safe also because they are scared to make a mistake, but alas, he/she who didn't make a mistake made no progress whatsoever.
- Some people play it ultra-safe because of past disappointments. Perhaps, at a point, when they were younger -- they had high hopes in something or someone, or perhaps, they used their imagination more freely, but may have gotten some things wrong. Instead of coming to a balanced progression, such people go to the extreme, damning and cursing themselves and covering their tracks so much that they can barely learn anything from the lesson beyond shunning themselves in shame.
- When people are more afraid to be wrong than to attempt to understand and utilize their consciousness, then a faith-based behavior is produced which hardly represents "think for yourself."
